Broadaway, Kenneth Eugene, 67, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Sunday May 14, 2017 in Wichita. Kenneth was born on August 9, 1949 in Carthage, MO the son of Gerald and Elsie (Bailey) Broadaway. Kenneth and Vickie (Ellington) Broadaway met at the Kansas School for the Deaf and were united in marriage in 1973. Together they celebrated 19 years of marriage before her passing in 1992. Kenneth began his education at the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Missouri, at age five. He continued his education at Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe, Kansas....

Broadaway, Kenneth Eugene, 67, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Sunday May 14, 2017 in Wichita. Kenneth was born on August 9, 1949 in Carthage, MO the son of Gerald and Elsie (Bailey) Broadaway. Kenneth and Vickie (Ellington) Broadaway met at the Kansas School for the Deaf and were united in marriage in 1973. Together they celebrated 19 years of marriage before her passing in 1992. Kenneth began his education at the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Missouri, at age five. He continued his education at Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe, Kansas. Kenneth began a 46 year long career in the aircraft industry at Cessna continued through Boeing and retired from Spirit Aerospace. He was active in the Wichita Association of Deaf. Kenneth was an avid John Deere collector and train hobbyist. He enjoyed working with wood and refinishing furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Survivors include his loving children, Dean E. Broadaway of Wichita, Tami (John) Rohlin of Blackwell, OK, siblings, Dora Jean (Jack) Presley of Rogers, AR, Gerry (Steve) Knipmeyer of Bartlesville, OK, Charles Broadaway of Cherryvale, KS, sister-in-law, Dollie Ellington-Shaffer of Wichita, grandchildren, Sampson Isaiah and Nehemiah Joseph Rohlin and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Visitation with family will be from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. A private family inurnment was held at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Kansas School for the Deaf Endowment Association, 450 E. Park, Olathe, KS 66061.
