Best, Charles W., 84, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Friday September 8, 2017 in Wichita. Charles was born the son of Troy and Ethel Best on August 6, 1933 in Springfield, Missouri. Charles and Jacqulyn Best were united in marriage on September 15, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas; they met at Immanuel Baptist Church. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Charles served in the United States Army in special services during the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Army Chorus. Best, Charles W., 84, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Friday September 8, 2017 in Wichita. Charles was born the son of Troy and Ethel Best on August 6, 1933 in Springfield, Missouri. Charles and Jacqulyn Best were united in marriage on September 15, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas; they met at Immanuel Baptist Church. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Charles served in the United States Army in special services during the Korean War. He served in the U.S. Army Chorus. He spent 25 years as a commercial milk delivery driver calling on customers in rural Kansas communities. Charles was a longtime member of Central Community Church in Wichita where he and his wife were active in the choir. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; Don Best, sisters; Geraldine Franklin and Thelma Whaley. Survivors include his loving wife; Jacqulyn Best of Wichita, children; Charles William Best, Jr. of Wichita, Richard (Debra) Best of Colorado Spring, CO, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at Central Community Church, 6100 W. Maple Street, Wichita, 67209. Burial will follow 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita.
